The most important component to your sunroom is the glass.
That's why we offer the highest-performance glass available.

Fully tempered for strength and safety, nearly unbreakable
One inch thick insulated glass units with 3/4" argon filled
dead air space for superior insulation
Lower maintenance - easier to clean glass, while there is no such thing as self cleaning
glass, E-Z Clean glazing repels dirt and other residue from clinging to the glass. It features
a thin layer of silicon dioxide applied to the exterior surface, literally a glass-on-glass
coating.
Cardinal LoE 270 - All climate solar control glass. Features a unique coating that has
been specially formulated to reject the sun's heat and damaging rays to provide the
ultimate in comfort. The glass is coated with microscopically thin, optically transparent
layers of silver sandwiched between layers of anti-reflective metal oxide coatings. This
patented coating provides the best clarity and optimum performance.
SilverCoat E-140, More than a solar control glass. This high technology glass allows you
to let the sunshine come in without bringing discomfort to your room while controlling glare.
It's multi-layer coating give it the ability to handle each portion of the solar spectrum
differently to absorb incoming visible light, making it spectrally selective. Perfect for
nighttime star gazing.
SilverCoat E-366, the latest in Low-E glass technology. The ultimate high-performance
glass, delivers the ideal balance of solar control and high visibility. The unprecedented
triple layer of silver, gives three layers of year-round thermal protection that blocks more
solar gain, reflects heat and lets the light stream in.
NFRC Approved Windows - Energy performance ratings
AAMA Certified Windows - For structural performance, air infiltration, water infiltration,
acoustics and security.

INFORMATION YOU SHOULD KNOW:

All windows should have glass energy performance ratings. If the manufacturer won't

furnish you with the actual ratings, then most likely the glass is not the high performance

glass that should be used in sunroom applications. There are many different types of Low-

E coatings. The term "high performance" can be misleading but not untruthful, for example

ordinary house windows with a Low-E coating can be called a high performance window,

especially when compared with clear glass, single pane house windows. But it would not

be a good choice for a comfortable year-round use sunroom.

Several factors should be considered for glass roof rooms. You want the best combination

of glass that will give you the

greatest efficiency in comparison to visibilit

There are some

glasses that have good energy ratings but to get the good rating, have a very dark and/or

highly reflective tint.

These tints are so dark that there is basically no nighttime visibility.

This

contradicts

one of the main reasons for a glass roof room, to be able to stargaze and

enjoy the beautiful nighttime views.

There is a difference in glass ratings and window ratings. When using windows ask if the

windows are NFRC

(National Fenestration Rating Council) certified. Ask to see the

certification label (it should be attached to each window). This label will show the certified

energy performance ratings. If it is not certified, don't buy it.

AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association) certification grades the

structural performance of the window; air infiltration, water infiltration, acoustical and

security. This certification is important but has nothing to do with the glass energy

performance of the window.
